I find it so ironic that this is my favourite theme in King of Fighters 99', and yet it belongs to the group that I hate the most in-game. This is, nonetheless, a good song to emo and ponder to, though it apparently makes me feel...like a criminal, to put in simple terms. Not in a good way. No, maybe not criminal. A snarling wounded beast would be more appropriate.



So moving on, Digital Doodling and Painting class has reached its end. It was just so sudden. I was first chiong-ing drawings at last minute for my class and now...I'm free. I don't know whether to be happy or not, really. I mean, sure, the class ended and I have the week to myself again, but I feel that something's missing? ._. The class was conducive and enriching, especially to a noob like me when I've never even touched digital media related tools except for Paint before. >_> I was actually LEARNING something (despite wasting a lot of time on supposed artworks and stuff that we NEVER managed to complete and present) but still, I was happy because I was learning.


Tentatively thinking of taking up Figure Drawing. Just that the course is so expensive. oAo And the materials too. Maybe I should just get myself one of those art guidebooks that teach you the techniques. x_x;;;

Now. I have some complaints. *sips coffee*

1. The 3 new characters don't really look like they belong in Blazblue.  The fag doesn't seem to have any business with the peeps in Blazblue AT ALL.  Maybe with the people in Samurai Warriors or some ancient Japanese based war game but NOT Blazblue.  The tall guy seems to fit in better with either KOF or Fist of the North Star. ...well maybe not Fist of the North Star. Too manly. Uh, Rumble Fish then I guess? ._.; And the final member seems to resemble Zenia from Arcana Hearts...a bit too much.

I don't deny though. When this game releases, I am SO going to try out the fag first. XD Mainly because he gives me a bit of Ash Crimson vibes but also because I think it might have some resemblance to Rose from Street Fighter. Only more Japanese. Then I'll try out the Sector Seven member.


2. Just from the trailer itself, though retaining its futuristic and yet magical-based game theme, it seems that the style leaning towards and becoming more and more like Arcana Hearts....................................
FUCK NO.



3. Why the hell did you remove the Murakumo units? Though I still have at least 5 back-up characters (Noel, which thankfully she wasn't removed, Tsubaki, Makoto, Platinum and Jin) to use, I'm...robbed of my trump card, so as to speak. And now, if you're going to introduce another Murakumo unit in the YET ANOTHER FURTHER EXPANSION of Continuum Shift *yo dawg we heard you like expansions* you people better at least make his/her play-style similar to at least Lambda-11/Nu-13 so that we Lambda fans don't have to burn more money mastering a completely new play-style.

4. Why the hell did you people remove Break Bursts and Guard Primer system for us noobs to break free of combos? If you're basing the damn franchise on Guilty Gear why can't you just retain the burst system?

KOF music and Blazblue music

I seem to be one of the minority whose blogs are still somewhat alive. Or maybe zombie-fied. *braaainnnnssss* Just a short rant about different music producers and their expression methods via their compositions. Don't follow or just not interested don't read.

NOTE: All capitalized 'THIS' in this particular post are all links leading to the respective pieces of music that I'm talking about.

Anyhow, I've chanced upon this song at the spur of the moment when my brain just told me to look for Elizabeth Blanctorche's theme online. THIS [KOF XIII OST - Each Promise] was one of the results. Though a tad more classier (thanks to Elizabeth), mystical-sounding (thanks to Duo Lon), less metal than THIS OTHER TRACK [Blazblue fan-made theme - Sacred Philosopher] but still keeps its aggressiveness (thanks to Shen Woo) I've found for some time.

In my opinion, KOF's music producers produce their music according to the general feel and style of the team together; rather than a single individual, like Guilty Gear or Blazblue (in which majority of the music is produced by Daisuke Ishiwatari). Though KOF music is less personified and doesn't scream the character's individuality like Daisuke Ishiwatari's compositions, they create more versatility in a single track and expresses the team's workings and interactions better. Just like THIS [KOF XI OST - New Order] theme. 

It mixes Shingo's happy-go-lucky nature, Iori's attitude and Kyo's confidence as well as all 3 of their in-your-face-ness perfectly. Though it first stuck me as "it's too bad-ass for Shingo, maybe just Iori and Kyo trying to constantly beat down and one-up each other".

Oh yes, and THIS [KOF XI OST - Roaring World + Koubai (Shion's theme)] . It starts off as borderline creepy and is nightmare-fuel material complete with moaning sound effects at first until it loops into a foreboding piece with a heavy touch of oriental that hints the coming of something big. (Of course, this bastard is the very first character from what I can recall that actually managed to give me a physical wound from fighting him because of all the button mashing and joystick spamming. And the best thing is that he's the first thing I wanted to cosplay as. THE IRONY.)

Slowly comes in the guitar and the boss-stage worthy speed-up on rhythm that makes you either want to run for your life or fight him head on while dancing because of the theme's beat (I'm serious). 

This guy Shion. *still somewhat in denial that Shion is male* Is a pretty good definition of 'test of strength' and fits into mid-boss tier like a fitted glove. By the time you get to him you should have some good moves, combos or strategies up your sleeve. Or you're going to get floored. By the almighty spear that kills his own boss. *spoiler spoiler*

His boss Magaki is just.........another victim of the SNK Boss Syndrome, to put in simple terms. He's just like Mu-12 only with more dimension-related moves *pokes you through dimension hole* and added invisibility that he can activate for a short period of time.

SNK bosses, why all of you so cheap one? = ~ =

I've noticed that nowadays I tend to lean towards a more classical, but still aggressive edge in music. THIS guy's theme [Guilty Gear XX OST - Haven't You Got Eyes in Your Head?] might have a significant part in my current preferences. But currently, I think that THIS theme [Blazblue OST - Queen of Rose] might actually be the root cause.
